Government Railway Police personnel have been onboarded onto RailMadad to support passenger grievance handling, information-sharing and complaint monitoring, the Ministry of Railways said in an October 24 release. The update followed the eighth All India Conference of GRP Chiefs, which concluded in New Delhi on October 23.
The Centre for Railway Information Systems carried out the onboarding. Better coordination between the Railway Protection Force, GRP and state police was a central theme of the conference. The announcement does not provide the number of personnel added, station-wise coverage or a guaranteed complaint-resolution time.
For Diwali, Chhath and other peak travel periods, discussions focused on advance crowd planning, passenger-flow management and coordinated security deployment. Delhi Division described measures involving CCTV, public announcements, barricades, holding areas and control rooms. These were presented as crowd-management arrangements, rather than a new timetable or ticketing policy.
South Central Railway presented its women-led Pink Patrol model, combining drone-assisted surveillance with SHAKTI rapid-response teams. Pune Division also presented Project DISHA, which engages children living near railway tracks through education, recreation and railway-safety awareness. The release describes initiatives discussed at the conference; it does not establish that every station has these facilities or that new deployments began in each district.
Officials also discussed stone-pelting prevention, joint training, digital evidence handling and intelligence-sharing. The stated aim is stronger passenger safety and more coordinated policing; the release supplies no measured reduction in crime or response times.
