The Fisheries Ministry has announced plans to inaugurate PMMSY projects valued at ₹375 lakh, or ₹3.75 crore, during Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh's November 2–3, 2026 visit to Gangtok and Mangan districts in Sikkim. A November 1 release also schedules the launch of a standard operating procedure for organic fish farming and interactions with fish farmers. These are planned events, not confirmation that the projects have opened.
The programme includes a visit to the Live Fish Vending Centre at Mangshila and a review of fisheries development and PMMSY interventions at the District Administrative Centre in Mangan. The ministry says Kisan Credit Cards and cheques under the Mukhya Mantri Matsya Uthpadhan Yojana are to be distributed to fish farmers during the visit.
The release does not identify the individual projects making up the ₹375 lakh total, their capacities, the number of card or cheque recipients, or amounts payable to each farmer. It also gives no public application or registration deadline. The planned distributions should not be described as completed payments or automatic benefits for every fish farmer.
