Public records

Dated parliamentary work record

In Rajya Sabha question 148 dated 12 March 2025, Hussain asked about Beti Bachao Beti Padhao funding, savings accounts, impact assessment and responses to oversight findings. The Ministry supplied separate tables for funds released and utilized, Sukanya Samriddhi savings, sex ratio at birth and secondary-school gross enrolment of girls. Its HMIS table reports Karnataka at 945 female live births per 1,000 male live births in both 2014-15 and 2023-24. This is sex ratio at birth, not the child sex ratio asked about. Savings deposits are not scheme expenditure; releases are distinct from utilization. These descriptive records do not establish that the scheme caused an outcome or that the MP personally delivered it. Later implementation and independently measured attributable outcomes were not verified.
