Cisco updated its October Node.js security advisory to version 1.3 on October 30, revising affected-product and confirmed-unaffected lists. The advisory covers four high-severity flaws involving Brotli decoding, DNS resolution and TLS hostname validation.
Its priority-product table still lists products including IOS XE, Identity Services Engine and Secure Firewall software as under investigation. That status is not confirmation that every listed product is vulnerable or fixed.
Cisco says proof-of-concept exploit code is available but that its security response team is unaware of malicious use against Cisco products. Customers should use the advisory’s product-specific bug and release information; a listed future fix date is not proof that a patch is available now.
