Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal proposed FTA help desks in every Telangana district to help MSMEs, farmers and startups use free trade agreements. He made the suggestion at the curtain raiser for the Invest Telangana Global Summit in New Delhi on October 29, 2026, according to the Commerce Ministry's release through PIB.
Goyal also proposed identifying Telangana's 50 leading export products across goods and services and mapping markets offering preferential access under existing agreements. The number 50 refers to a suggested product-mapping exercise, not 50 newly approved projects or export contracts. The release does not announce that district help desks have opened, or provide a sanction order, staffing plan, budget or launch date.
For the pharmaceutical sector, he called for stronger capabilities in key starting materials and active pharmaceutical ingredients, greater innovation, and development beyond generics into higher-value products, biosimilars and biotechnology. He also suggested closer industry–academia links and simpler business procedures. These are policy suggestions in his address, rather than confirmation of new regulatory approvals, funded facilities or guaranteed export orders.
