Delhi's monthly average Air Quality Index for October 2026 was reported at 166, compared with 223 in October 2025, in an Environment Ministry release issued on October 31. The 2026 October figure is lower than every October figure listed for 2018–2025 in that release. It is a monthly average, not a live AQI reading for November 1.
For January 1–October 31, the ministry reports an average AQI of 167, against 170 for the corresponding 2025 period. It records 220 days in the Good-to-Moderate categories and 84 in the Poor-to-Severe+ categories during January–October 2026. The 220-day figure exceeds the corresponding counts listed from 2018 onward except 2020, when there were 224 such days.
The particulate figures cover a different end date: January 1–October 29. Average PM2.5 was reported at 69 micrograms per cubic metre, versus 72 in the same 2025 period. PM10 was 171 micrograms per cubic metre, compared with 166 a year earlier, so this measure increased despite the lower reported AQI and PM2.5 averages.
The figures describe Delhi and their specified reference periods. They do not show current conditions at every monitoring station, establish a pollution-free day or predict air quality in the coming weeks.
