GitHub makes Copilot Fusion generally available for automatic model selection

GitHub announced general availability of Copilot Fusion on October 28. The system selects and coordinates AI models for coding tasks, with Standard, High and Max effort settings.

GitHub says it is available across Copilot plans in Visual Studio Code, the Copilot app, Copilot CLI and JetBrains IDEs. Support for additional clients is planned.

Enterprise and organisation model policies determine which models Fusion can use. Billing follows the standard rate for each model used; GitHub also announced a temporary 30% model-cost discount for paid-plan users using Fusion.
