Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed infrastructure projects costing more than ₹16,000 crore at the 54th PRAGATI meeting on October 28, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. The review covered railway, Ekta Mall and Drug Park projects across 31 states and Union territories. The figure describes the projects reviewed, rather than a fresh funding sanction announced at the meeting.
Andhra Pradesh’s Bulk Drug Park was among the drug park projects discussed, alongside those in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. The Prime Minister called for prioritising domestic production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and essential inputs. The release does not give a new allocation, completion date or operational-capacity figure for the Andhra Pradesh park.
During the review of Ahmedabad railway station’s redevelopment, Modi called for faster redevelopment of major stations and connectivity with metro and other transport networks. He also asked for Ekta Malls to be linked with tourism and local businesses to help provide markets for local products and artisans. These are directions on implementation, not announcements that the facilities are complete.
The Prime Minister asked Chief Secretaries to review schemes with District Magistrates every month to address implementation gaps and improve delivery to eligible beneficiaries. Ministries and state governments were asked to resolve bottlenecks, improve coordination and monitor projects at senior levels. The release does not establish that every project’s bottlenecks have already been cleared.
